Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do and it's the small steps that we all take, that form the biggest changes. We are fully committed to reducing plastic pollution and preserving our oceans, waterways, wildlife and greenery in every way we can. This is why we have a number of sustainability measures that help us meet these objective and keep improving and innovating.

As we go through life, our daily choices and decisions may seem insignificant, but they can accumulate and have a substantial impact on the environment. Every item we use has the potential to affect the consumption of our natural resources, the quality of our air, and the overall health of our ecosystem. At CompoGloves, we take into account all of these factors and work as hard as we can to make our gloves environmentally sustainable. As well as creating a better alternative to a single use plastic, we want to show you the other measures we take to help positively impact the environment.

Making regular donations

We are proud to make regular donations to woodland conservation charities who work to create, protect and restore UK woodland across the UK. It is so important to put back into the environment what we use and by planting trees through woodland creation we help to keep our water clean. Trees filter out harmful substances and prevent soil erosion as well as reducing flood risk, a growing threat in a warming climate.

Trees also reduce air pollution and provide homes for wildlife, supporting a wealth of biodiversity. A single oak tree can support more than 350 species!

Carbon Offsetting

CompoGloves are made from renewable plant-based materials which help reduce carbon emissions by upto 65% compared to the production of conventional plastic which also generates over 60% less greenhouse gas emmissions. Additionally, as a Compostable glove, the end-of-life process of the gloves composting lowers greenhouse gases by improving carbon sequestration in soil and preventing methane emissions through aerobic decomposition.

Intelligent raw material choices

CompoGloves are made from responsibly sourced raw materials like cornstarch and vegetables such as cassava, sugarcane, soy and other bio-based proprietary components. These are better for the environment as they are annually renewable resources.

Natural Packaging

We wanted to keep our packaging in line with everything else we are trying to achieve and for that reason, we use natural untreated card. This means it contains no coatings, dyes or any other nasties...it is in its most natural usable form. We also use single colour plant dye to print on our boxes meaning the impact on the environment during and from production is minimal.
