Certified Home and Industrial Compostable

For over 20 years, the BPI Certification Mark has been the defining symbol of compostability. The BPI Certification Mark and those associated with it, is the most reliable, widely-recognized third-party verification of whether or not an item meets ASTM’s compostability standards.
Product biodegradability is determined by two methods: ASTM D6400 Standard Specification for Labeling of Plastics Designed to be Aerobically Composted in Municipal or Industrial Facilities, which is a pass/fail standard. To pass ASTM D6400, the product must:
- Biodegrade at least 90% within six months (180 days) in a municipal or industrial composting facility.
- Disintegrate such that after composting for no more than 12 weeks, no more than 10% of the product’s original dry weight may be found in a 2 millimeter screen fraction.
- Be non-toxic (and leftover compost must be free of toxins).
- Contain no Heavy Metals or Fluorine.

CompoGloves exceed industry expectation and also carry the 'OK Compost HOME and INDUSTRIAL' Certification. OK compost INDUSTRIAL is a certification scheme for products guaranteed to be biodegradable in industrial composting plants, the sole reference point for the certification programme is the harmonised EN 13432: 2000 standard.
OK compost HOME is a certification scheme for products that are degradable in home composting. Owing to the comparatively smaller volume of waste involved, the temperature in a garden compost heap is clearly lower and less constant than in an industrial composting environment. This is why composting in the garden is a more difficult, slower-paced process. TÜV AUSTRIA’s innovative answer to this challenge was to develop OK compost HOME to guarantee complete biodegradability in the light of specific requirements, even in your garden compost heap.

We also carry the 'Seedling' certification and logo which clearly identifies and differentiates packaging materials as biodegradable and compostable. To be certified compostable and carry the “seedling” logo, suitable bioplastic materials must undergo a stringent test regime outlined by AS4736 and carried out by independent accredited laboratories.

CompoGloves carry the CE marking which indicates that a product has been deemed to meet EU safety, health and environmental protection requirements.
FDA Food Grade Compliant
FDA Title 21 CFR Part 177 recognizes that any substance intended for use as a component of materials used in manufacturing, packaging, transporting, or holding food (also known as food contact substance) is considered generally safe for use in food or food packaging. Manufacturers must achieve FDA Title 21 CFR Part 177 certification for a glove material in order to deem it food safe. CompoGloves are manufactured and certified to comply with Direct Food Contact Use in accordance with FDA standard FDA Title 21 CFR 177.1520.
ATEX Anti Static
CompoGloves are certified ATEX Anti Static meaning they are completely safe to use at fuel stations and on forecourts. Gloves that do not carry this certification cannot be used and are unsafe to use in an environment with flammable or explosive substances.
